Eastern Mongolian crane survey

We have been conducting long-term crane population surveys along the Kherlen and Ulz River basins in Eastern Mongolia. These wetlands serve as key breeding, molting, summering, and congregating sites for White-naped Cranes, Common Cranes, Demoiselle Cranes, Siberian Cranes, and Hooded Cranes.

Since 2019, MBCC has been monitoring crane populations to:

✅ Identify and map critical habitats
✅ Evaluate threats to cranes
